Terms of use
Review version of the Portuguese Association of Urban Planners, 9 October 2026. The text describes how the website currently works and must be confirmed by APU before final publication, in particular the legal name, the tax identification number and any rule of the statutes that prevails over these terms.
These terms govern access to and use of the website of the Portuguese Association of Urban Planners (APU), including the public pages, the member area, the shop, event registration and contact forms.
1. Who runs the website
The website is run by the Portuguese Association of Urban Planners, with its office at Instituto Superior Técnico, Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources, floor 3, office 5.33, Avenida Rovisco Pais, 1049-001 Lisbon.
The office answers the telephone from Monday to Thursday, between 17:00 and 18:30, on +351 218 418 028. Email contact is apurbanistas@gmail.com.
2. Acceptance
By browsing the website, creating an account, registering for an event or making a purchase, the user accepts these terms of use and the terms and conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the areas that require that acceptance.
3. Account and member area
Some areas, in particular the member area, reserved documents, fees and registrations, require an account. Whoever creates the account must provide true data and keep them up to date.
- Credentials are personal and may not be transferred.
- The account holder is responsible for actions taken with their access.
- APU may suspend an account in the event of abusive use, non-payment of fees when they are due, or breach of these terms.
- Loss of membership may limit access to content and services reserved for members.
4. Acceptable use
The website is for information about APU, the life of the association, technical dissemination and the contracting of the services and products presented. It is not permitted to:
- use the website for unlawful purposes or to infringe third-party rights;
- attempt to access accounts, reserved areas or systems without authorisation;
- introduce viruses, destructive routines or loads that impair the working of the site;
- copy member-only content on a large scale or bypass access restrictions;
- publish, through forms or the member area, content that is offensive, defamatory or that does not belong to the sender.
5. Content and intellectual property
The texts, visual identity, logo, photographs, videos and documents of APU are protected. Unless otherwise stated, viewing them on the website does not grant rights of reproduction, distribution or commercial use.
Documents in the technical area and the member area may be reserved for members or subject to their own licence, stated on the relevant record. News and public pages may be shared with attribution and a link to the website, without changing the meaning of the content.
Anyone who sends texts, files or images to APU, by form or through the member area, warrants that they may do so and authorises the association to use them for the purpose stated in the request, including the reply, the organisation of the event or membership management.
6. Shop, events and payments
The purchase of products, registration for events and the payment of fees follow the terms and conditions. The price, date, means of participation and specific conditions are set out on the product or event record, before confirmation.
7. Availability
APU seeks to keep the website available, but may interrupt it for maintenance, updates or causes outside the association. It is not guaranteed that the website will work without interruption or error, or that the content will be permanently up to date.
8. Links to other websites
The website may link to partner organisations, urban-planning networks and payment services. Those links do not mean that APU controls those websites or is responsible for their content or policies.
9. Personal data
Data collected in forms, the account, registrations and payments are processed for the purposes stated at the time of collection. The contact form is sent only with consent to use the data in the reply. The privacy policy completes these rules.
10. Changes
APU may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date of the revision. Use of the website after the change counts as acceptance of the new version, without affecting rights already acquired in a completed purchase or registration.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to apurbanistas@gmail.com or to the office, at the hours and address given at the start.
